The santase counter replaces the tally sheet: after every deal you mark who won and by how much (normal, schneider or schwarz), and the counter accumulates the score to 11 and keeps the match in your browser. The full rules of the game are below.
Santase is played by two people with 24 cards: 9, J, Q, K, 10 and A in every suit. Each player gets 6 cards (3 plus 3), the next card is turned up, sets the trump and sits half-exposed under the talon.
Card values: ace 11, ten 10, king 4, queen 3, jack 2, nine 0. The deck holds 120 points in total, with announcements added on top.
While the talon lasts, following suit is not required: any card may be played. After every trick both players draw a card from the talon, the trick winner first.
Once the talon is exhausted or closed, strict rules apply: follow suit, beat the card when possible, trump when out of the suit. If nobody declares 66, the deal is won by whoever takes the last trick.
A queen and king of the same suit are an announcement: 20 points, 40 in trumps. They are declared when leading one of the two cards. The points count once the player has taken at least one trick.
The holder of the nine of trumps may swap it for the turned-up trump card when on lead after winning a trick, while the talon is neither closed nor exhausted.
The player on lead may close the talon by turning the exposed trump face down. From that moment strict rules apply and nobody draws any more cards.
The closer must reach 66. Failing that, the opponent receives 2 points, or 3 if the opponent had no trick at the moment of closing.
Whoever collects 66 or more points declares and wins the deal. The winner gets 1 point for a normal win, 2 for a schneider (opponent under 33) and 3 for a schwarz (opponent without a trick).
A wrong 66 claim gives the opponent 2 points. The match is played to 11 points; the counter also offers 7 or 15.
A deal brings 1 point for a normal win, 2 for a schneider (opponent under 33) and 3 for a schwarz (opponent without a trick). The match is played to 11 points.
Schneider is a win with the opponent under 33 card points: 2 points. Schwarz is a win with the opponent taking no trick at all: 3 points.
If a player declares 66 without having the points, the opponent receives 2 points. Record them from the opponent's buttons.
